Matt DeFord is an artist that lives and works in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He joined the art faculty at Northwestern State University in 2005, and is currently the coordinator of the Department of Fine + Graphic Arts. Matt received his M.F.A. in Sculpture at Kansas State University in December 2004, and a B.F.A. in Sculpture at Brigham Young University in August 2001. He specializes in mixed-media work, both virtual and literal. His pieces address the re-contextualization of material, and the commentary of contemporary forms of communication. Matt’s work has been exhibited from New Jersey to New Mexico, from Cuba to Canada.
